First Aid Course

Initial assessment/enrolment

 This course aims to provide you with the knowledge you need to understand the key areas of first aid. The course will enable you to increase the safety of yourself and others in the workplace and in other everyday environments. This is a great course for anyone who is interested in first aid, as it will provide you with crucial skills that apply to all aspects of work and everyday life

This first aid training course covers a range of basic lifesaving first aid skills and techniques:

  • Managing an incident
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Resuscitation
  • Bleeding
  • Treating burns of varying degrees
  • Shock
  • Treating an unconscious casualty
  • Common workplace injuries
  • Current Health and Safety Regulations pertaining to first aid

Learners will attend a short initial assessment prior to starting the course.

Food Safety Course

This one day course is for anyone who handles food, or plans to handle food, in the catering industry. It would also be beneficial for people who come into contact, due to the nature of their work or daily lives.

  • Importance of Food Safety, the law and types of Contamination
  • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Legal Responsibilities of Food Handlers
  • Personal Hygiene in Food Safety
  • Keeping the Work Area and Equipment Clean and Tidy
  • Safe Food Handling Practices and Temperature Controls
  • Stock Control Procedures including spoilage

 Learners will attend a short initial assessment prior to starting the course.

Certificate in Mathematics

Entry 2 to Level 1

This is a weekly rolling programme.

 Units include:

  • Number
  • Measure, shape and space
  • Handling data

We also offer GCSE mathematics online with tutor support sessions.

Certificate in English
