Welcome to the Future Parliament Programme
Ever wondered what it’s really like to be an MP or work within Parliament? Now’s your chance to find out. The Future Parliament Programme is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for young people aged 16-18 from Hull West and Haltemprice, developed by Emma Hardy MP, Minister for Water and Flooding, in partnership with Hull College and the University of Hull. This free, two-day programme will take you behind the scenes of politics and give you the skills, experience, and confidence to make your voice heard.

Practical Details
Duration: Two days, with lunch and refreshments provided on both days.
Eligibility: Open to young people aged 16-18 living within Emma Hardy’s constituency of Hull West and Haltemprice.
Travel Costs: Covered for all participants.
Application Deadline: Complete your application by FRIDAY 27th JUNE.

  • Debating in Government: Learn what makes a great speech in parliament and how to use the Speech Writing Parliamentary Toolkit.
  • Speech Day: Showcase your new skills by delivering your own speech at the University of Hull and graduate from the programme.
